The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Whittle's invention, the patent was filed on February 19, 1941, and it was published on July 16, 1946, under the number 2,404,334. The diagram features various cross-sectional views, each labeled with figure numbers and clearly illustrating complex mechanical components.
